8th- 11th February

As some people within the class are planning and filming film trailers for their main task, the subsidary tasks include creating a film magazine cover which inclkudes their film on it. This also helps groups like mine which are creating a music video as we have to write and article on the artist/ video as our subsidary task. Within our first lesson this week we looked at a few different film magazine covers so we could see which componenets were needed to make it efeective. I discovered that the image of the film was the main focus and sometimes overlapped the actual name of the magazine. I may decide to incoporate this when creating my own magazine article.

During this week we also watched a film over 2 lessons called 'Dirty Pretty Things'. This film shows a different representation of the 'normal Britain' as it shows different cultures and ethnicities and illegal immagrants. It is a social realist film with different issues of narrative running through it.

Through the production lesson this week we carried on planning our video which we will hopefully record over the half term next week, as the dealine is getting closer. I am also thinking about starting my subsidary task so when it gets nearer the end I wil not be rushing to help finish the video and do the subsidary task on top of this workload.

1st-4th February

This week we mainly focused on 'Personal identity', and 'online identity/ online persona'.
I learnt how we express our identities by our appearance, personality, hobbies and friends etc. Our identity is the way we present ourselves to others and it is our choice to create our own personal identity.
When creating an online identity it can be fake or false if you really want it to be, by using someone elses information and pictures. Even though most people use their own information sometimes you cannot trust a person online as they can be someone different.

Marcus, Machilek and Shuitz are theorists on how people express themselves. Users can recognise someones personality just by their profiles such as the language they use, how its laid out etc.

During the double production lesson this week me Beckie and Dale carried on with choreographing a dance for our video. We first uploaded the song onto the Mac so we have it there when we need it in the future. We also talked about costumes and are going to buy some costumes during the half term in 2 weeks time.

Wednesday 20th- Tuesday 26th January

During this week we mainly focused on youth culture and how they are stereotyped/ portrayed through programmes and films.
We looked at clips of 'Kevin and Perry' and 'Catherine Tate' and found out that the stereotype of teenagers are comedy, exagerated and are portrayed to be rude, untidy, chav-like and have disrespect for authoritive people such as teachers. This makes it funny when exageratted because it feels that we have all seen or been this previously when we was a teenager. For example going round a friends house and them arguing with their parents for not being able to go out (disrespect).

We also looked at film trailers for youth culture type films, such as, 'Kidulthood', 'Reafer Madness', Quadrophenia' and 'Bullet boy'. These are films set in different times and about youth, from 1930's until the present day. As they are different times they show how the youth culture has changed and shown through the media. All of these film trailers have violence, sex, drugs and underage drinking in which are all parts of the truth of youths but exageratted in a way to make it more entertaining.

During our double production lesson this week, my group produced a story board to make it easier for us to follow and complete. With this and our filiming schedule we will find it so much easier to make the deadline as we know what to do each week.

Next week we are going to start on the actual video.
